Tolerating Toxic People
Unfortunately, toxic people can be found everywhere. If you always feel worse after interacting with a particular person, then he or she is likely toxic. These types of people are often manipulative, dramatic, dishonest, and self-centered.
There are several ways to handle these individuals. If you decide the person is not someone you wish to keep in your life, try to cut off all contact. If it’s someone you can’t completely avoid, minimize contact as much as possible. Let him or her know that you are busy. If necessary, change your schedule to avoid crossing paths. Stay firm to avoid being roped back in.
If it’s someone you love who is simply dealing with his or her own stress in a toxic manner, explain how you are feeling and ask if the person can modify the negative behaviors. Remember that it is not your job to “fix” other people or solve their problems.

Neglecting Your Physical Health

Work on getting proper nutrition and exercise to further improve your health. Make small changes to your diet to help you stick with a new approach to eating. Gradually increase your physical activity to avoid injury and burnout.

Change is difficult but worth it if your life becomes healthier and more enjoyable. Replace these behaviors with ones that bring joy to your life and reflect your long-term goals.
